Promote sustainable agriculture through:
- Training farmers in record keeping
- Training farmers in agronomy
- Training farmers in Postharvest handling and marketing (collective marketing)
Promote thrifty among members by affording them an opportunity for accumulating their savings and to create a source of funds from which loans can be accessed.This is done through:
- Saving mobilization
- Loan portfolio management
- Record keeping
HIV/AIDS Education
- Sensitize and inspire members with increased knowledge, skills and positive attitudes towards HIV/AIDS.
To create a forum for information exchange and
networking

BSLA is in partnership and collaborating with both National and international organizations which include:
- Agricultural Sector Programme Support -Uganda (ASPS/ABDC)Achievements
- Slum Doctors Programme (SDP) in USA
- A World Institute for Sustainable humanity (AWISH) in USA
- Local authorities in Iganga district
- With support from ASPS we have managed to train 360 farmers in improved maize production
- With support from SDP and AWISH we have managed to run an operational office.
- We have managed to set up a collective marketing program with our farmers.
- We have managed to support widows taking care of orphaned children.
- Strengthen the Board and Staff of BSLA in organizational management.
- Strengthening the cooperative society through educating members and networking with other organisations.
- Expand on our maize production project and
marketing.
- Resource mobilization to facilitate and fund our
activities.
